Three walking/running routes (12, 23 and 32 mile routes with 2600, 4300 & 7000 feet of ascent
respectively) are offered over beautiful and varied hills and ridges; with views of the Brecon
Beacons in the north, and across the Bristol Channel to Somerset in the south. The two longer routes circumnavigate the historic town of Caerphilly. Based at Machen Village Hall, Machen, near Caerphilly. Free car parking is provided. Landranger Map 171, GR-ST.2098901.Registration from 7:15am. Start times: 8:00am - 23 & 32 mile walkers. 9:00am - 12 Mile Walkers and all Runners.
A certificate will be given, and badges will be for sale. This event is organised by the South Wales Group of the Long Distance Walkers Association, and is open to non-LDWA members. Tea and toast at the start. Cold drinks and snacks at

| Sat TBA | Challenge Walk/South Wales | Brecon Beacons Midnight Challenge Walk

Take the challenge on a wild, wonderful 12, 15 or 21k circular night-time walk from the
National Park Visitor Centre taking in Fan Frynych, Spot Height 570 NR Cefn Pefedd (for the sunset),
Enclosure and Sarn Helen Track. Raising funds for the Brecon Mountain Rescue and the Fishermans Mission.
This circular walk starts at 9.00 pm taking you across the wild and untamed Brecon Beacons with only the
moon and torch light to guide your way. Experience the wilderness and the sounds of the Beacons at night.
Depending on ability and stamina, the walk will take approximately 2 � 6 hours. The experts of the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team supervise this magical experience. There is parking at the National Park Visitor Centre and on return from the walk, hot drinks and food will be served there.
There is a TBA entry to cover the organising costs of the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team. It�s from the sponsorship money you raise the Mission will benefit.
